外文俱乐部暑期英语课顺利开讲[图]

外文俱乐部暑期英语课开讲了！7月7日，宁波图书馆暑期英语课系列活动第一期顺利举行，近30位读者参加本期“英文绘本阅读家长篇”活动。刘芳元馆员担任主讲人，从教育的理念、资料的选择、阅读的步骤等方面向家长传授了高效与孩子共同阅读绘本的技巧，语言幽默，氛围活跃。课后，家长们还提问了一系列问题，她一一予以解答。外文俱乐部将在7月和8月间共推出8节暑期英语课，下一节课将于7月14日开讲。

老舍的小说《四世同堂》，于1951年以theYellowStorm为译名，由HarcourtBrace出版社出版。这本书的翻译过程极为独特：它并不是由译者单独在原作基础上翻译的，而是先由小说原作者进行删节，再口授给看不懂而能听得懂中文的译者浦爱德，用打字机将对应的英语译文记录下来。这样特殊的翻译过程，恐怕只有在林纾的经历当中才曾经有过。老舍的英译本有一个另外的书名，“风吹草动”，封面有中文题字，内页是英文。由于老舍的其他作品曾在美国遭受“篡改一般的误译”，老舍在美国访学期间，决定亲自参与《四世同堂》的翻译工作。每天晚上7点到10点间，他与浦爱德（IdaPruitt）一起翻译《四世同堂》。在翻译过程中，他必须一段一段地亲自将文字念给看不懂中文的浦爱德听，所以工作进行得劳心费神。1949年2月9日，老舍从纽约寄给友人楼适夷的信中这样说：“《四世同堂》已草完，正在译。这就是为什么还未回国的原因。此书甚长，译手又不十分高明，故颇需时日，始能完成。”在另外文献的记载中，1949年8月19日，老舍与浦爱德最后一次商量《四世同堂》的第三部译稿，这应该就是完稿前的最后一次校对。如前所述，《四世同堂》的...
