Italian poet and scholar Dante Alighieri is best known for his masterpieceLa Commedia(known in English as The Divine Comedy)，which is universally considered one of world literature’s greatest poems.
意大利诗人和学者但丁 · 阿利吉耶里最为人所知的是他的代表作《喜剧》（英文名为《神曲》），这部作品被普遍认为是世界文学中最伟大的诗歌之一。
Divided into three sections —Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso—. The Divine Comedy presents an encyclopedic overview of an encyclopedic overview of the mores, attitudes,beliefs, philosophies, aspirations,and material aspects of the medieval world.
分为三个部分—《地狱》《炼狱》和《天堂》—。《神曲》展示了，以百科全书式的方式概述了风俗、态度、信仰、哲学、愿望以及物质方面的中世纪世界。
Dante made significant contributions to the early Renaissance，and many of his ideas and themes were developed by later writers, artists, and thinkers.

Dante contributed to the development of humanism，the use of the vernacular in literature and challenged the

"The Divine Comedy (c. 1307-1313) is a great landmark work in the history of world literature, giving an artistic summary of the medieval cultural sphere and a vague glimpse of the dawn of humanist thought in the Renaissance era through the author's dialogues with various famous figures in hell, purgatory and heaven.In 1982, Peking University professor Tian Dewang began translating The Divine Comedy from the original Italian. It took the translator eighteen years to not only translate the original text, but also to compile a large number of commentaries, whose word count reached three times that of the text. Professor Tian Dewang's translation is in prose."
“长篇史诗《神曲》（约1307—1313）是世界文学史上里程碑式的伟大作品，通过作者与地狱、炼狱及天国中各种著名人物的对话，给中古文化领域以艺术性的总结，也隐约可见文艺复兴时代人文主义思想的曙光。1982年，北京大学教授田德望开始从意大利语原文翻译《神曲》。译者花费了十八年的时间，不但翻译了原文，还编译了大量的注释，其注释的字数达到正文的三倍。”

"In October 1934, with his reverence and love for Dante and the Divine Comedy, mathematician and physicist Vicky Wang began a decade-long translation. The first Inferno was not published by the Commercial Press in Shanghai until February 1939. After an eight-year hiatus, in May 1943, Wang revived his translation and took another year to complete the translation of The Pure World and Paradise, and in August 1948, the Commercial Press published the three parts of The Divine Comedy in three complete volumes. Thus, the first full translation of the Divine Comedy in China was finally released. Wang Weike's translation did not translate in a rhythmic poetic style, but faithfully narrated the original poem in prose form."
“1934年10月，数学和物理学家王维克凭着自己对但丁和《神曲》的崇敬和热爱，开始了长达十年的翻译工作。这一部《地狱》直到1939年2月才由上海商务印书馆出版。1943年5月，王维克重拾译笔，又用了一年多的时间，译完了《净界》和《天堂》。1948年8月，商务印书馆将《神曲》的三部分为三册，完整出版。至此，中国第一部《神曲》的全译本终于问世。王维克的译本并未用有韵律的诗歌体翻译，而是以散文体的形式忠实地叙述了原诗的内容。”

"Almost at the same time as Wang Weike, Zhu Weiji also began his translation of The Divine Comedy. Zhu Weiji was a Shanghai poet, but not very accomplished in poetry. His most important work was this translation of The Divine Comedy, which was published several times by the Shanghai Literature and Arts Press and the Translation Press, and sold in large numbers and is still being reprinted today. Zhu Weiji's translation work probably began around 1935 and was not basically completed until 1942 when the first draft was published in the Shanghai Monthly magazine in serial form, but it was interrupted only until the thirteenth song of "The Inferno". This translation was officially published in the 1950s, and the translator made a number of changes to the translation before publication. Zhu Weiji's translation was a transfer from the English translation, and instead of choosing the same prose style as Wang Weiji's translation, he used his expertise in free-form new poetry to translate The Divine Comedy in a natural and smooth manner."
“几乎与王维克同时，朱维基也开始了对《神曲》的翻译。朱维基是一位上海的诗人，但在诗歌方面的成就不高，他最重要的作品就是这个《神曲》译本，先后在上海文艺出版社和译文出版社多次出版，销量很大，至今仍在不断重印。朱维基的翻译工作大概是在1935年前后开始的，直到1942年初稿才基本完成，最初发表在上海的《月刊》杂志上，以连载形式刊登，但只连载到《地狱篇》的第十三歌就中断了。这一译本正式出版是在50年代，译者在出版前对译文进行了不少修改。朱维基的译本是由英译本转译的，他没有选择与王维克译本一样的散文体，而是利用自己擅长的自由体新诗来翻译《神曲》，译笔自然流畅。”
